Out in Suifeng Village, Taihe Town, on Guangzhou's green northern edge, Maofeng Sweet Orange Farm (帽丰甜橙农庄) sits in the foothills of Maofeng Mountain — orchards on the slopes, fresh mountain air, and that easy out-of-the-city feeling the moment you arrive. It takes its name from the celebrated local sweet oranges (帽丰/萝岗甜橙): bright, juicy, and famously fragrant.
The kitchen does proper Taihe farmhouse cooking (农家菜) — the local signature being Taihe roasted chicken (太和烧鸡), crisp-skinned and done the old-fashioned way — alongside farm-fresh mountain vegetables and big shareable plates made for a long table and good company. Honest, hearty country food, best washed down with a cold drink after a hot trail. Walking trails head off from here up into Maofeng Mountain proper for anyone with legs left after the run.
The headline draw in warm weather is the pool and its big water slides — a proper treat to cool off in after the hash. Note the slides are paid separately from the meal, so bring a bit of extra cash (and your swimmers).
